China disposed to reinforce cooperation with Burundi, says Ambassador LI Changlin

On the occasion of the closing of the summit of the Beijing Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, LI Changlin, Chinese Ambassador to Burundi has said China is disposed to reinforce cooperation with Burundi in infrastructure, energy and agriculture domains.

Ambassador Li has said China is going to give a financial aid of 300 million Yuan to Burundi government and 50 million tonnes of rice as part of humanitarian assistance.

“The China-Africa Summit in Beijing marks a new starting point in our relations with Africa. We are in a new context of deepening China-Africa comprehensive strategic and cooperative partnership. We are moving from global strategic partnership towards the process of constructing the community of common destiny. We are therefore called on to work together to achieve tangible results for the benefits of our respective populations,” says Ambassador LI Changlin.

Bernard Ntahiraja, Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs who has represented the government, has said Burundi government is pleased with China’s cooperation with Africa in general and with Burundi in particular.

“Burundi is delighted to realize that the China-Africa cooperation has produced mutually beneficial results between China and Burundi,” he said.

The ceremony was held in Bujumbura on September 11, a week after the closure of the third China-Africa summit which was held in Beijing on 3rd and 4th September under the theme “China and Africa: Towards an Even Stronger Community with a Shared Future through Win-Win Cooperation”
